Am still not through the rewrite of Dangerous Vision. After reworking the story, I shifted gears to concentrate on the actual writing and a multitude of imperfections came into view. (The novel was written well over ten years ago, and today I’m a different person.) Basically things are going well. An acupuncture treatment seems to have strengthened my concentration; I’m immersed in the work for long periods.
Recently a friend pointed out my tendency to overuse the passive voice, which is not an asset in an action packed thriller. Too it’s important to cut back on excess wordiness. Then there’s the matter of pace, deliberately slowing things down at times.
Doing a good job is my main concern.
